Fitness Diet

I got a couple of e-mails from a number of you looking for some more installments in our little fitness myth series, so here goes our # 3 broken myth.

This specific ones more of a misunderstanding really than a myth, lots of guys apparently are convinced if they visit a gym and exercise for some time then consume a protein shake they currently have all things in place to be able to gain muscle. The fact is, even though whey protein shakes are a good addition to your diet regime, you simply can't just use them on their own to build muscle tissue.

An organized and balanced diet plan that is loaded with protein is the main element here. The majority of nutritionalists recommend a ratio of 40% carbs 40% protein and 20% fats (healthy fat). So this is a good method to abide by. Simply use focus as a supplement to your diet as opposed to a justification not to change your diet!

Fitness Myth #2: Jogging on a treadmill will put less strain on your knees

"Running is a popular exercise session, nonetheless it can impact on the knee joints -- but because it's the same pressure of your body weight on your joints that creates the strain, it's the same whether you're on a treadmill or on asphalt," says Todd Schlifstein, DO, a clinical instructor at New York University Medical Center's Rusk Institute.

A sensible way to lessen joint impact, says Schlifstein, is always to vary your exercise routine.

"If you mix jogging with other cardio activities, as an elliptical trainer, or you ride a stationary exercise bike, you will decrease stress on your knees so you can run for many more years," says Schlifstein.
